Chinese cuisine usually includes meats, eggs or other animal products, and is served with rice or green veggies. You can find Chinese cuisine styles almost anywhere. There are however many differences between the cooking styles of different regions in China. Even styles that appear similar can look completely different among neighbors. Many styles of Chinese cuisine have evolved over the centuries, and were greatly influenced by the dynasties. Chinese cuisine has been an integral part of Chinese culture since the Qing Dynasty (1644-1694) – 1911.

The eight Chinese regional cuisines were created because of their differences in climate and geography, as well as the diversity in lifestyles, products, and costumes. These eight regional cuisines are distinctive in their taste and appearance.

Shandong’s Lu Cuisine is well-known for its variety of seafoods, including sweet and salty, braised abalone and trepang), as well as soups.

Jiangsu Cuisine (Su), Cuisine: Traditional dishes from the lower Yangtze River Region are braised and steamed. Most well-known are the Jinling salted dried Duck and Triple Combo Duck.

Zhejiang’s Zhe Cuisine is well-known for its delicate, light and fresh dishes.

Fujian (Minet), Cuisine: This region is famous for its fresh seafood and distinctive slicing techniques, which enhance the flavor of the dishes.

Anhui (Hui) Cuisine emphasizes local vegetables (bamboo & mushroom crops) et herbs. Fuliji Grilled Turkey, Braised Turtle with Hum are two of the most famous dishes.

These are the most well-known traditional Chinese dishes, but there are many more in China’s Beijing and Dongbei or Shanghainese restaurants. One thing is certain, China has a wide variety of delicious food.

German wines

Germany is known for its aromatically pure white wines, especially the Riesling, which has a fruity, elegant flavor. Germany is well-known for its white wines. A third of the country’s wine production is now made up of red grape varieties such as Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir).

There are many wine styles in Germany, including sweet, semisweet, and sweet white wines as well as rose wines and red wines. Most wines are made in dry style. Many export wines, however, are sweet. Because they are located north, German wines have a unique and extraordinary quality. German wines have the highest levels of acidity. Because the grapes are not as ripe, this is why German wine has the highest level of acidity.

The German Wine Institute presented a presentation about pairing German Wines with Chinese Food at the SIAL 2012 Shanghai. The topic of the sensory interaction between flavors and wines was also discussed. For a Chinese banquet, you will need a German Spatburgunder or Pinot Noir, a dry Riesling and a German Spatburgunder. A Riesling should be balanced in flavor, aroma, body, weight, and smell (e.g. Riesling Kabinett). Red Pinot Noir is a good choice for heavier dishes like roast pork or Beijing duck. Both wines can be poured at the beginning of the meal to suit different tastes.
